Websites guide

Website projects store product information, submission assets, and the context used for backlink work. Create a project before adding opportunities to its queue.

1. Website list

The top of the page shows your project count and membership limit. Filter by Status, or search names, URLs, tags, categories, and short descriptions.

The Backlink progress column summarizes total, in-progress, completed, and failed records. The actions column leads to backlinks, logs, edit, and delete actions.

Use Codex from Websites

There are two separate workflows:

  1. Click Codex in the target website's actions.
  2. Confirm the website and select an active API key.
  3. Choose Website to process existing pending records, or Personal library / Backlink Plaza to create records when needed.
  4. Start with 1 and Recommended tasks.
  5. Copy the prompt, send it in a new Codex task, and review the result in Submission Records.

Prepare website data with Codex JSON

Enter the product URL, open Codex JSON, and copy the generated prompt to Codex.

Copy the Codex website-analysis prompt

Paste the returned JSON into the editor, optionally format it, click Apply JSON data, review every imported field, and save the website.

Paste and apply the JSON returned by Codex

Applying JSON fills empty fields only and does not save automatically. See the Codex guide for data sources, task scopes, security, human steps, and result statuses.

2. Create a website

  1. Click New Website.
  2. Enter a publicly accessible product URL in Import from URL.
  3. Use Web metadata, Jina Reader AI, or Codex JSON to fill empty fields; imports populate the form but do not save automatically.
  4. Complete at least the product name, product URL, and short description.
  5. Review product information, social links, categories, and tags, then click Save.

Review automatically imported information before saving. The product name, description, URL, and social links should come from official product information.

3. Edit and delete

Use Edit in the actions column to update product information. Delete starts the website project's soft-delete flow, so confirm that you no longer need the project.

Before deleting a website, review its submission records and backlink logs. Website data and backlink records are related but separate.

4. Next steps

  • Research public opportunities in Backlink Plaza.
  • Save reusable opportunities in My Backlink Library.
  • Associate opportunities with the project and track them in Submission Records.
